Mad as Hell…

If nothing else makes you mad as hell, then this certainly will…

For all you players who have already applied for your settlement and continue to wade through the process (What else is new?) while the lawyers continue battle it out for their slice of the legal fee pie, here’s some more crap to piss you off!

Earlier today, Judge Anita Brody filed a notice for an update conference to be held privately in her chambers this coming Monday, Nov. 13, 2017! Then a second notice was filed almost immediately afterwards that basically locked all the other attorneys AND players out of her conference except for “lead” attorney, Chris Seeger! WTF?!!

“Class Counsel must be represented solely by Co-Lead Class Counsel Chris Seeger, Esq.”

Looks like someone needs to start another letter-writing campaign to let Judge Brody know what you think!

We’ve uploaded both filings  to Scribd for easy viewing and to make it available for downloading and printing. You can also click the Enlarge icon in the lower right corner of the menu at the bottom of the viewing screen to go Full Screen for easier reading (just hit the ESC key to close):

This is so unfair to block other lawyers from being present.

I am saddened to hear everything that was promised originally is not being fulfilled. The NFL was not supposed to be involved and yet they ended up being able to determine – even after the medical review board has approved a settlement – to be able to still deny claims for payment!

That’s what happened to us today! My husband gave his life for the game, his records were approved by the medical review board and another review board at the end of September after we first applied in May. Then we were told we had to another 30 days because the NFL Had 30 days to also appeal. (?!!) We heard nothing and the appeal time was up on November 2nd so we assumed we were finally moving forward for payment. So then my attorney calls today and says that the NFL on the 30th day decided to appeal and sent the denial today.

It’s still Delay, Deny and Hope You Die… Except Jeff had already died 5 years ago this December from CTE. Their filing stated there was not enough evidence from Dr. McKee to make that diagnosis!

Really?! He had Stage II CTE!

Trying to stay Positive in the appeal process.

How do we reach Judge Brody?

Hope that this all works out but for now, I’m just going to go on and say, “I told you all” but only about 150 of our men were listening.

The League is off the hook, a small group of Lawyers are going to get paid big time on “both sides of the pillow” and most players are going to end up with nothing.

Of those who do receive a small award, it will all be spent in 24 months of less.

I can only hope that I’m wrong.

  4. I wonder if this was being held in her private chambers to keep it from being public as well as to get around the 10-day notification rules so no one will be able to respond quickly enough?

And lawyers want to opine? 🙂
